LINCOLN, Neb. – Five Shockers claimed Prairie Wolf Invitational event titles Friday afternoon at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
Distance runners led the way for the Shockers with
Lea Jerkovic running the eighth-fastest 1,000-meter time in program history, clocking a 2:57.29 to win the event.
Peyton Pogge finished second in the event with a time of 2:59.88.
Amanda Treptow won her second race of her debut track and field season, taking the 3,000 meters title with a time of 11:06.47.
In the 600 meters,
Audrey Parson won her first individual collegiate race of her career with a time of 1:37.89.
Ian Schram, a freshman from Festus, Mo., claimed the mile win, running 4:19.08 with
Zander Cobb finishing right behind him in 4:19.48.
The Shocker men swept the pole vault with
Caden Carlson winning on attempts with a clearance of 4.45m/14'7.25",
Weston Hulse placing second with the same height, and
Adria Navajon taking third, jumping 4.15m/13'7.25".
Jacob Meyers ran 1:54.21 in the 800 meters to finish second, and
Finja Lammeyer ran 2:19.76 in the same event to place second, as well.
Hudson Bailey and
Kelvin Acheampong also recorded top-three finishes with Bailey jumping 6.94m/22'9.25" to place second in the long jump and Acheampong placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.69m/44'11".
The Shockers are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 19 in the Bob Devaney Sports Center for the Mark Colligan Memorial, starting at 10:45 a.m.
