ATLANTA – The NBA's Atlanta Hawks announced Monday that they have signed former Wichita State guard
Tyson Etienne to a contract and extended him an invitation to preseason training camp.
Etienne went undrafted in June but made a strong impression during July's NBA 2K3 Summer League, averaging 10.2 points in 16.7 minutes over five games in Las Vegas.
In three seasons at Wichita State (2019-22), Etienne was a two-time all-conference selection, earning American Athletic Conference co-player of the year honors in 2021 when he led the Shockers to the league's regular season title and an NCAA tournament bid. He finished his collegiate career with 200 threes and over 1,000 points.
NBA training camps begin in mid-September. The Hawks will play the first of four preseason games on Oct. 6 in Abu Dhabi.
