WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's basketball will host Drake in a charity scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. in Charles Koch Arena.
All tickets are $20 and seating is general admission. There will be no reserved seating. Gates open one hour before tipoff. Tickets are available for purchase
online or by contacting the Shocker Athletics Ticket Office. Proceeds will be split between two local community groups, the Wichita Children's Home and UJUMP.
Charles Koch Arena parking will be free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The scrimmage with Drake will not be a prototypical game format, it will instead be an extended scrimmage featuring offensive and defensive segments, in-game scenarios and live play.
"I'm glad Shocker fans will be able to watch our scrimmage versus a 2025 NCAA Tournament team and support two wonderful charities that have impacted Wichita," said Wichita State head men's basketball coach
Paul Mills. "(Lynbert) Cheese (Johnson) is a Shocker legend as a player, however, his contributions to assist Wichita youth through UJUMP have been transformative. Additionally, Wichita Children's Home has a profound effect on children as they provide emergency and temporary residential care in Wichita. Supporting the Shockers will directly correspond to you helping Wichita children through these two tremendous organizations."
The former Missouri Valley Conference rivals will meet in the Roundhouse for the first time since Jan. 4, 2017. The Shockers have the longest series history with the Bulldogs out of any other Valley team. Wichita State and Drake have met 152 times with the Shockers owning a 104-48 record in the series. Wichita State is in Year 3 of the
Paul Mills era, while the Bulldogs usher in a brand new era under Eric Henderson in 2025-26. Henderson arrives in Des Moines after six successful seasons at South Dakota State.
Shocker Nation can experience the energy of Charles Koch Arena this upcoming basketball season by purchasing season tickets. Prices are the lowest they've been in 15 years. Secure your seats online atÂ

About UJUMP
UJUMP is a 501C3 Wichita non-profit junior mentoring and entrepreneurial program founded by former Wichita State All-American Lynbert "Cheese" Johnson. UJUMP focuses on 4th to 7th grade students in the Wichita and Andover school districts.
