DES MOINES, Iowa – Five Wichita State track and field athletes raced at Drake Relays Thursday and Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bryce Merriman got things started for the Shockers with a top-25 finish in the unseeded 1500 meters Thursday evening, running his second-fastest time of the season (3:54.00).

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Clayton Duchatschek ran the eighth-fastest time in Shocker history to place 10
th, and
Britte Magnuson recorded his second-fastest time of the season to place 34
th with a time of 9:29.35.

Two Shockers entered the Shocker all-time list in the 5,000 meters with
Ben Flowers placing ninth in the unseeded race to move up to fifth all-time (14:17.94) and
Trey Rios finishing 12
th to move up to sixth all-time.

Adam Moore was the lone Shocker to compete on Friday, racing in the 1500 meters for the third time this outdoor season. Moore placed seventh with a time of 3:44.36 to record his second-fastest time of the season.

The remainder of the Wichita State track and field team competes Saturday at the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kansas.
