NORMAN, Okla. – Three Wichita State heptathletes wrap up the multi-event competition at the Sooner Multis Saturday at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex.

Maria Romero and
Anna Heacock placed third (4,724 pts) and fourth (4,240 pts), respectively, in the heptathlon, moving up a total of four spots between the two of them on day two. Heacock recorded the second-best javelin throw of the day with a mark of 32.45m/106-5 (523 pts), and Romero wrapped up the competition with a first-place finish in the 800 meters, crossing the line in a personal-best 2:24.78 (760 pts).

Kenisa Meyer also completed the heptathlon, finishing seventh with 4,068 points with personal bests in the javelin (22.96m/75-4/344 pts) and 800 meters (2:46.68/499 pts).

In the men's decathlon,
Kolby Caster pulled out of the competition after fouling in the discus and no-heighting in the pole vault.

The Shockers return to Norman with a full squad Friday, April 22 for the John Jacobs Invitational.
