MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Brock Polhill finished solo fifth to lead the Wichita State men's golf team at the K-State Wildcat Invitational.
 
Polhill (67-75-73 – 215) navigated 54 holes at Colbert Hills Golf Club at 1-over-par to secure his best finish in four seasons as a Shocker. He had previously tied for fifth at last spring's Missouri Tiger Invitational.
 
Wichita State (303-304-293 – 900) tied for sixth in the 13-team field at 36-over-par.
 
Freshman Lucas Scheufler (73-79-72 – 224, +8) paced the Shockers in Tuesday's final round with an even-par, 72 to secure a tie for 21^st in his collegiate debut.
 
Dawson Lewis (81-72-73 – 226, +10) overcame a rough start to the week by putting together two solid rounds to climb from 56^th into a tie for 28^th. His combined score over the last 36 holes (145) tied for fifth-best among the field of 75 golfers.
 
Jack Glenn (73-78-75 – 236, +20) took 55^th and Grayson Wallace (82-81-88 – 251, +35) tied for 70^th.
 
Kansas City's George Clarke won the individual title at 6-under-par. Sam Houston placed four golfers in the top-10 to win the team title by nine strokes (864, E) over host Kansas State (873, +9).
 
The Shockers are back in action next Monday and Tuesday, Sep. 20-21, at Colorado State's Ram Masters Invitational at Fort Collins Country Club.
