Council, a 6-foot-6 forward from Durham, N.C., averaged 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Shockers with a high game of 23 points vs. Cincinnati. He earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference's all-freshman team.
He reminisces about how being overlooked in recruiting provides motivation, playing backyard basketball on a hoop with no backboard with his brothers and how he is trying to change his eating habits.
