WICHITA, Kan. – Destiny Masters and
Tanner Brown led the Shockers to a sweep of the multi events Thursday at the Shocker Multi with their performances in the indoor women's pentathlon and men's heptathlon.
Masters won four of the five events in the pentathlon, scoring the sixth-highest pentathlon total in Shocker history (3877). She earned personal-best marks in the 60-meter hurdles (8.65), high jump (1.82m; 5-11.5) and shot put (11.04m;36-2.75). He high jump mark moved her into second all-time in Wichita State history.
Maria Romero took second in the pentathlon with a score of 3707, winning the 800m in 2:26.37 and placing second in the other four events. She recorded a personal best in high jump with a leap of 1.64m (5-4.5).
In her Shocker debut,
Brianna Utecht placed third in the pentathlon with a score of 3252 points and her teammates
Anna Heacock (3170) and
Kenisa Meyer (2889) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
On the men's side,
Tanner Brown followed his successful day one performance with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles in a personal-best time of 8.51. He placed third in the pole vault before putting the exclamation point on his heptathlon with a win in the 1000m to solidify his victory with 5368 total points. Brown's point total ranks 10
th all-time in school history.

Hudson Bailey finished second in his first meet in a Shocker uniform with a win in the 60m hurdles on day two.
Kolby Caster and
Jack Mull finished fourth and fifth for the Shockers and
Nate Vann came in seventh after a no height in the pole vault.
Wichita State track and field will hold the final day of their Black and Yellow Intrasquad Friday, Dec. 3 at the Heskett Center. Field events will kick off at 12 p.m. and the running events will start at 3 p.m.
