Box Score TULSA, Okla. -- The Wichita State women's tennis team concluded its fall tournament season with a series of hidden dual matches at the Hurricane Invite.
 
The Shockers went 10-7 in singles, including a perfect 6-0 against conference rival Houston. They also took 4 of 6 against Central Arkansas. Tulsa bested WSU for the unofficial team title, sweeping all five Sunday matches, though three of them went full three sets.
 
"There were a lot of positives this weekend," head coach Colin Foster said. "Sweeping Houston in singles was a strong result against a good team. Even though we didn't get any wins against Tulsa on the final day we competed the right way, with great positive energy and conviction and put ourselves in positions to win on every court."
 
A pair of Shockers made their season singles debuts. Vitalia Stamat won each of her first two matches against UCA and Houston before sitting out Sunday. Bianca Rademacher picked up a three-set victory in Saturday's session against Houston.
 
Natsumi Kurahashi (8-2 this fall) won two of her three matches at No. 1 singles. Jessie Zheng (8-3) and Harriet Hamilton (8-2) also finished the weekend at 2-1.
 
Zheng and Clara Whitaker had the best doubles showing off any Shocker tandem, finishing 2-1 on the third flight.
 
"Everyone got stronger and better this fall, which is certainly the top priority," Fostet said. "As we head into our off-season training block, we'll take a few days to recover and then be motivated to make the most of these weeks before we break for Thanksgiving and final exams."
