WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State Athletics marketing graduate assistant
George Crook has been accepted into the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar.
"I am very excited and thankful to have been accepted to participate in the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar," Crook said. "This will be an excellent opportunity to continue developing my skill set and growing my network while getting ready for the next step of my career. I would like to thank my bosses,
Tami Cutler and Reggie McIntyre, for getting me to apply. I am looking forward to representing Wichita State University and our athletic department at this event."
The program accepts a limited number of current interns or graduate assistants that work within either an athletic department at a NCAA member school, conference office, affiliate organization or the NCAA national office.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for George to learn from some of the best in all of collegiate athletics," Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement
Reginald McIntyre said. "He is a great ambassador for Wichita State. He is very skilled and passionate about his craft. We are thankful for his leadership and his love for the student-athlete that is showcased in everything that he does."
The virtual seminar will take place from Feb. 3-5. The program is designed to educate, develop and connect participants and will help provide them with the skills necessary to accelerate their career progression in college sports.
The seminar provides participants various options to connect with one another, including facilitated small group breakout rooms, networking hubs, collaborative case study spaces, and an exhibit hall where participants can speak with industry professionals and other attendees. The platform will enable attendees to build a strong sense of community within the program, replicating the cohort-model of in-person programming in the digital space.
"We are so excited for George and this wonderful opportunity," said Associate AD/Strategic Communications
Tami Cutler. "He is a rising star in this profession and we look forward to watching him advance in his career."
