WICHITA, Kan. -Â Wichita State welcomes Tulane to Charles Koch Arena for its 2020 American Athletic Conference home opener on Sunday, Jan. 5 for a 2 p.m. tip on the American Digital Network.

Wichita State scored 100 points in its victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday, Dec. 16, marking the first time since 1999 the Shockers have reached the century mark. It is only the sixth time in program history that a Wichita State team has put 100 points on the scoreboard. They are 6-0 all-time when scoring 100-plus.
LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State dropped its conference opener at No. 1 UConn, 83-55 on Thursday. It was the final regular season meeting between the two programs as members of the American Athletic Conference. Wichita State lost the turnover battle for just the second time this season. WSU was held to a season-low 23 rebounds and was outrebounded by 18.
Mariah McCully registered her eighth straight game in double figures with a team-high 16 points.Â
Carla Bremaud collected her second straight game with 13 points behind 3-of-4 shooting from three-point range. Bremaud has made six of her last nine attempts from deep.
Shyia Smith added 10 points.
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE
Tulane enters the matchup at 5-8 on the season. The contest vs. Wichita State will be the Green Wave's conference opener. Krystal Freeman leads Tulane in scoring (13.8) and rebounding (7.8) on 45 percent shooting. Arsula Clark also scores 12.8 points per game to go with a team-high 22 steals. Clark also ranks first in the American Athletic Conference in getting to the free throw line. Her 79 free throw attempts lead the league and rank 26th nationally. Mia Heide is the conference's second leading shot blocker at nearly two (1.92) a game and 25 for the season. As a team, Tulane ranks 44th in the country in blocked shots. On the defensive side, the Green Wave do a solid job limiting opponents beyond the arc. Their opponents are shooting just 26.3 percent from three-point range, which ranks 36th nationally and first in The American.
THE SERIES VS. TULANE
Wichita State and Tulane have met four times prior to Sunday's matinee. The Shockers have won three straight in the series, giving them a 3-1 lead when the two teams square off. This will be Tulane's second trip to the Air Capital. Wichita State is 1-0 vs. the Green Wave in Wichita - the first trip Tulane made to Wichita was in Feb. 2018, an 81-70 win for the Shockers.
LAST MEETING
Wichita State and Tulane met only once during the 2018-19 regular season when the Shockers made the trip down to the Big Easy. Wichita State secured a 62-44 road win on Jan. 26, 2019. Wichita State held Tulane to less than 30 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded the Green Wave by 10. The Shockers made the most out of their trips to the free throw line, going 16-for-20.
Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage led three Shockers in double figures with a game-high 16 points.
Ashley Reid scored a then-career high 15 points in 38 minutes.
Raven Prince added 12 points and a game-best eight rebounds.
ABOUT THE GREEN WAVE
Located in New Orleans, La., Tulane University has an enrollment of 13,449 as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Tulane returns nine letterwinners and four starters off last year's squad that finished 15-15 and 5-11 in The American. The Green Wave were picked to finish seventh by the league's coaches in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll. Junior forward Krystal Freeman was a preseason First Team All-Conference selection after earning Most Improved Player and Second Team All-Conference honors a season ago. Head Coach Lisa Stockton is in her 26th season leading the Green Wave with a record of 513-282. She is among the top 50 winningest college women's basketball coaches of all time and 23rd among active coaches heading into the 2019-20 season. SHOCKERS MAKE AMERICAN RECORD BOOKÂ
In Wichita State's 100-50 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday, Dec. 16, the Shockers tied the conference single-game record with 36 made free throws, going a collective 36-of-45 (80 percent) from the charity stripe. That performance draws even with USF's 36 foul shots against UCF on Jan. 5, 2016. WSU finished one make shy of the top mark in school history (37, in 2005).

BEST DECADE YET
Wichita State's win over Grambling State on Dec. 30 was the final contest of 2019 and decade for the Shocker basketball program. It signaled the end of the most successful 10-year run in program history, as Wichita State compiled 182 wins over the decade, which included three MVC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, three NCAA Appearances, 12 all-conference selections and one All-American and WNBA Draft Pick in future Shocker Hall of Famer Alex Harden.
OH MY MARIAH Junior Mariah McCully has been on a tear recently for the Shockers. Over her last eight games, McCully is averaging 15.4 points with outputs of 13 at Missouri State, 25 vs. Eastern Michigan, 14 at Creighton, 17 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 10 against Montana State and Virginia Tech, 18 vs. Grambling and 16 at UConn. Her nine games of 10 or more points this season rank first on the team and she is Wichita State's leading scorer on the year at 12.9 per game. McCully has played in 12 games this season and her lowest scoring total was five points at Louisiana Tech.
MAKE IT RAIN
Wichita State poured in 12 three-pointers in only 22 attempts in its victory over Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 30. The 12 made three-pointers are the most in a single game since Dec. 30, 2006, when the Shockers made 12-of-24 against Evansville. The school record for made triples in a single game is 14, which was set in 1999. Wichita State has made 10 or more three-pointers only four times between 2006 and Nov. 30, 2019.
UAPB LEFTOVERS
Wichita State's big win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 16 was a career day for several Shockers.

Ashley Reid scored a game-high tying and career-high 17 points. It marked just the third time in her Shocker career scoring 10 or more points. Reid also set career bests in free throws made (8), attempted (9), assists (7), rebounds (4) and steals (3).

Maya Brewer registered a career-high 16 points, while going a career-best 7-of-9 from the free throw line.
• Junior
Mariah McCully topped the 10-point mark for the fourth straight game with a game-high tying 17 points to go with a career-high six rebounds. She was perfect from the free throw line, going 8-for-8 - both career bests.
• Junior
Vendela Danielsson recorded her first career points as a Shocker, tallying all 10 after halftime on 3-of-7 shooting from long range.
• Redshirt sophomore
Asia Henderson just missed her first career double-double with eight points and a personal-best 12 rebounds. Henderson also blocked a career-high five shots.
• Redshirt freshman
Natalia Ryng checked in for the first time as a Shocker and finished with two points in 10 minutes.
