PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Senior Yannik Emmert closed out his career in the top 10 at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday.

Emmert finished ninth after compiling a 54-hole score of 215, giving him his fourth top 10 finish of the season. Emmert's ninth place finish marks the 10th time in the last 11 years where a Wichita State golfer finished in the top 10 at the conference championship. Wichita State last had a golfer in the top 10 at the conference championship in 2017, where Emmert, Grant Bennett, Conrad Walcher and Jacob Bishop each finished in the top 10 to help the Shockers to their last Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Starting the final round with eight straight pars, Emmert bogeyed his ninth hole to move to 1-over par heading into the back nine. Emmert birdied the fifth green and bogeyed the eighth green to give him a 72 third round score. Emmert was second in the tournament in par scoring, coming up with 40 pars over the three-day tournament.

Zac Owens and Dawson Lewis finished in a tie for 40th, each compiling a 229 54-hole score. Brock Polhill finished in 44th with a 231 score while Grayson Wallace came up with the highest finish of his career. Wallace compiled a 232 54-hole score to finish in a tie for 45th.

Wichita State finished in 10th at the AAC Championship for the second consecutive season, compiling a 304 third round score to bring its 54-hole total to 901.  

SMU's Mac Meissner took the individual title and broke the tournament record with a 13-under 54-hole score of 200. His 54-hole score ranks two strokes better than the previous mark set by USF' Ryan Fricker in 2015 at Black Diamond Ranch.

Memphis won the individual title by 12 strokes with an 852 team score, with SMU finishing in second with 864. UCF finished in third place with an 865 and USF finished in fourth with an 870 team score, with Temple rounding out the top five with an 873 54-hole score.
