HOUSTON - Shooting 1-under par in the final round of the Bayou City Collegiate, Zac Owens finished in a tie for second after compiling a 4-under par score.

Owens posted his lowest 54-hole score of the season with a 212 and came up with his second highest finish of the season, claiming his second top 10 finish of the year. The Woodward, Okla., native was only one stroke back from the lead, with Collin Clark from UTSA claiming the individual title with a 211 score.

Yannik Emmert shot a 1-under par in the final round to improve his 54-hole score to 220, moving him up 18 places for a tie for 22nd. Dawson Lewis shot a 79 in the final round and Brock Polhill came up with a 78, each coming in a tie for 68th with a 231 54-hole score. Palmer Hays compiled a 235 54-hole score and finished in a tie for 75th.

The Shockers finished tied for 10th place after shooting a 299 in the final round, compiling an 888 54-hole score to tie with Denver and finish ahead of New Mexico State, McNeese State and Houston Baptist. Conference foe, Houston, beat the Shockers by 12 strokes after compiling a 290 team score in the third round to finish in sixth place.

Sam Houston State won the even with a 54-hole total of 862, besting UTSA by six strokes. Texas State and UT-Arlington tied for third with an 870 team score while Arkansas State rounded out the top five with an 871 team score.

Wichita State wraps up its season at the American Athletic Conference Championship beginning on Sunday in Palm Harbor, Fla. Live stats will be available on Golfstat.
