WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State athletics, in partnership with the Kansas Humane Society, will host "Bark in the Park" at the Shocker baseball game against UCF Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field. Gates for the contest will open at 9 a.m.
KHS will have several adoptable dogs at the game. Fans that would like adopt a new furry friend will have to go to the Kansas Humane Society, located at 3313 N. Hillside St. in Wichita, to complete the adoption process.

Anyone who shows a ticket from Saturday's game while adopting from KHS will receive a free WSU collar and leash through April 30, or while supplies last. For more information on the Kansas Humane Society, and for a list of adoptable animals, please visit

Saturday's game sponsor, United HealthCare, will be giving away 500 dog bandanas, while Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita will have a booth in the outfield, and will have water available for dogs in attendance.

To ensure everyone has a fun and safe experience at the "Bark in the Park" event, please read and follow this important information:
- Dogs will be allowed to check-in and play in the left field area.
- Owners with dogs will have to buy a ticket at one of the ticket booths then proceed to the gate behind the batter's eye for admission. They CANNOT enter through any other gate.
- All dogs must be kept on fixed length leash (no longer than 8 ft.) at ALL TIMES. No retractable leashes, no dogs off leash. Owners are responsible for their own messes.
- Dog owner assumes responsibility for the action of their dog for the duration of the Bark in the Park event.
All participants are required to execute a Release and Waiver. Wichita State reserves the right to reject any dog for any reason. For the waiver form, please
