Wichita State's roster consists of seven true freshmen, one redshirt freshman, one sophomore, two juniors, one redshirt junior and two seniors. All told, the average age of the 2018-19 Shockers is just 19.2 years, making them the fifth youngest team in the country.

The Series vs. USF
Wichita State and USF have met just twice prior to Saturday's matchup, with the Shockers holding a slight 2-0 advantage. The first meeting took place all the way back in February 1983 on a neutral floor and WSU winning easily, 75-52. Wichita State has never faced the Bulls in Tampa.

Last Meeting
Wichita State upset then-ranked No. 23 USF in Charles Koch Arena, 64-56, a year ago on Jan. 21, 2018. It marked the first win over a ranked opponent since 1998 when the Shockers downed No. 25 Missouri State. Wichita State held the Bulls in check from beyond the arc, hitting only 3-of-22 attempts and finishing at 31.3 percent overall. WSU outrebounded USF by 10 and shot 38 percent from the field to erase an eight-point fourth quarter deficit. Rangie Bessard and Diamond Lockhart led the way with 16 points apiece, while Angiee Tompkins added 13 and Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage grabbing 10 rebounds.

Scouting the Bulls

USF is 14-12 overall and 5-7 in The American with conference victories over Temple, Tulane (twice), Tulsa and ECU. USF has been hit hard by the injury bug this season, having lost three players (Silvia Serrat, Kitija Laksa and Beatriz Jordao) for the season and Laura Ferreira for eight games. Despite the injuries, USF still leads the league in blocked shots, rebounds, rebound margin and second in free throws made, free throw percentage, offensive rebounds, scoring defense and scoring margin. They rank in the top 25 nationally in rebound margin (6th), total rebounds (6th), rebounds per game (10th), offensive rebounds per game (16th) and scoring defense (18th). Sydni Harvey is 28th nationally in free throw percentage at 87.3 percent.

Clutch Colbert
Freshman Trajata Colbert hadn't played since Jan. 4, but when head coach Keitha Adams called her number Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Memphis, the Georgia native responded. Colbert played 14 minutes and logged 11 points and 5 boards. Her 11 points were the most she's scored since Nov. 17 when she finished with a season-high 12 against Houston Baptist. Colbert followed that with another 11-point outing on the road at Cincinnati on Feb. 10. She was Wichita State's leading scorer, while playing a season-high 16 minutes off the bench.

Bastin's Boards
Freshman guard Seraphine Bastin has been Wichita State's best rebounders of late. The 5-foot-8 point guard has pulled down six or more rebounds in eight of the last 10 games, including a season-high 10 twice (vs. Memphis and ECU on Jan. 12 and Jan. 29). She is averaging 6.7 rebounds per game over a 10-game stretch.
In conference play (12 games), Bastin has a team-high 75 rebounds - 15 more than the next closest Shocker (Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage, 60) - good for a 6.3 rebound per game average.

Guarding the 3-Point Line
Wichita State's three-point defense has been especially stout of late. The Shockers have held their last six opponents under the 30 percent mark from beyond the arc - three of those under 20 percent. Their opponents are a combined 24-of-116 (20.7 percent) from long range. When including all of conference play, Wichita State has limited its opponents to 64-of-239 - good for a 26.8 percent marksmanship. For the entire season, Wichita State opponents are shooting 28.4 percent from long range, which ranks 44th nationally and second in The American. Nine times this season their foes have failed to top 20 percent shooting from three-point range in a game.

Offensive Rebounds > Defensive Rebounds
Redshirt junior forward Raven Prince is on pace to finish the season with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. Through 25 games this season, Prince has pulled down 107 total rebounds and 61 of them coming on the offensive end. That means 57 percent of her rebounds are giving the Shockers another opportunity to score. Wichita State has 294 total offensive rebounds and Prince makes up 21 percent of that number.

Bri Approaches 100
Senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage is just one game away from playing her 100th career game in a Shocker uniform. The Santa Fe, N.M., native has played in 99 games, making 73 starts during her four-year career. So far this season she is just one of two Shockers to start every game - along with freshman guard Seraphine Bastin. As of now, she is on pace to reach No. 100 at USF on Feb. 23.
