COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Wichita State track and field team found an abundance of success on day two of the Air Force Invitational.

On day two of the Air Force Invitational, Wichita State finished the day advancing 25 athletes to semi-final and final races on Friday. The Shockers also set 22 personal bests, recorded three all-time top-10 marks and won two individual field events.

Rayvon Allen and
Isaiah Evans each won their respective event, Allen won the long jump with a mark of 7.47m/24-6.25. Evans won the weight throw in historic fashion with a mark of 19.49m/63-11.5, the seventh best mark in school history.

Allen wasn't finished after winning the long jump, the St. Louis, Mo., native recorded the tenth fastest 200m in Shocker history advancing to the finals on Friday with a time of 21.84.

Paula Garcia joined Allen and Evans in the all-time top-10 club, Garcia ran the fourth fastest 60m in Shocker history advancing to tomorrow's semi-final with a time of 7.55.

Taniyah McMillian each advanced to tomorrow's 200m and 60m races, the only Shockers to advance in multiple events.

Multiple Shockers recorded top-5 finishes in the final of their respective event today, including
Cory Martens (weight throw),
Alex Adams (weight throw),
Slayde Little (pole vault),
Lucas Shaffer (high jump),
Amiya Anoma (long jump),
Emily Gardiner (pole vault) and
Grant Downes (heptathlon).

After two days the Shockers lead the men's and women's team standings. The women lead with 56.5 points, while the men have 41 points.
