GREENVILLE, N.C. – No. 16 ECU evened the series with a 7-3 win over No. 18 Wichita State.
Dayton Dugas went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a home run, while
Paxton Wallace went 3-for-4.
Starter
Liam Eddy went five innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
Chandler Jenkins led off the bottom of the third with a double and after a walk to Nick Barber, Brady Lloyd's one-out single scored Jenkins to put the Pirates up 1-0.
With one out in the fifth,
Dayton Dugas homered to left field to tie the score at one.
Barber led off the fifth with an infield single and moved to third on a single from Bryant Packard. With one out, Spencer Brickhouse's sacrifice fly scored Barber to put the Pirates back in front 2-1.

Noah Croft singled to lead off the seventh and Dugas followed with a bunt single to put runners at first and second. Pinch runner
Jacob Katzfey advanced to third on
Gunnar Troutwine's fly ball and scored on
Jordan Boyer's fielder's choice to pull the Shockers within 3-2.
The Pirates answered in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Packard walked and Lloyd followed with a two-run home run to left field to push the ECU lead to 5-2.
ECU added two more in the eighth and
Gunnar Troutwine homered in the ninth for the final 7-3 score.
The Shockers and Pirates wrap up the series on Sat., March 31 at 12 p.m. CT.
