WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State softball shortstop
Laurie Derrico has been named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for the second straight week after leading the Shocker offense in the opening weekend of conference play.
Derrico, a junior from Sterling, Okla., hit .500 for the second straight week, this time through three matchups against Memphis that included going 5-for-10, four runs scored and six RBI. Derrico also hit two home runs; the first a solo shot in the opening matchup on Friday and the second a three-run home run just inside the right field pole to help the Shockers run-rule Memphis on Saturday.
This is the second nod for Derrico this season and the sixth for the Shockers.
