Late Rally Falls Short Against Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Wichita State's late rally falls short, dropping a 4-3 decision to Nebraska, Sunday at the Dillon Tennis Center.

FROM HEAD COACH COLIN FOSTER
"Tough match that came down to a few points in several courts. We knew Nebraska would being a good level in the doubles and we came up just short. Ultimately, that was the difference. In singles, every court was a battle, just wasn't our day to find four wins but I'm proud of the effort and fight. We'll learn from it and be motivated to get better."

Giulia Guidetti and Ting-Ya Hsu put the Shockers up early defeating Claire Refeils and Hayley Haakenstad (6-2). Extending their record to 5-0, Paula Castillo and Brianna Cashway dropped Gabriela Porubin and Fatima Bizhukova in the first flight 6-3 to even it up, while Sandra Honigova and Marta Bellucco dropped a close one in the third flight to Katerina Matysova and Vasanti Shinde (6-4) to give Nebraska an early advantage.
