PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Wichita State University sophomore libero Giorgia Civita was named Defensive Player of the Week in the American Athletic Conference Monday, Nov. 26, for her performance on the volleyball court during the week of Nov. 19-25.
 
It's the third weekly honor this season and sixth career Defensive Player of the Week nod for Civita.
 
In WSU's two matches against Tulsa and North Texas last week, Civita averaged tallied a combined 58 digs over nine sets for a digs per set average of 6.44. She also had just two reception errors in 53 attempts for a .962 reception percentage.

In the Shocker's 3-2 win over Tulsa Wednesday, Nov. 21, she posted a match-high 40 digs to go along with a kill and an ace, and committed just one reception error in 21 attempts.

Saturday, Nov. 24, in Wichita State's match against North Texas, Civita posted 18 digs and had only one reception error in 32 attempts.
