PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Wichita State University junior outside hitter Alex Koon was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her performance during the week of Oct. 22-28.

A native of Williamsburg, Va., Koon helped the Shockers to a pair of 3-0 sweeps against UConn and Temple Friday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 28, at Charles Koch Arena.
 
The junior averaged 3.17 kills and 3.58 points per set, and hit a blistering .462 for the week with 19 kills on 39 attempts and just one error.
 
Against Temple Sunday, she posted a match-best 12 kills on 23 attempts and committed only one error for a .478 attack percentage. She added three digs and a pair of block assists in the contest.
 
In the Shocker's victory over UConn Friday, Koon tallied seven kills on 16 attempts with no errors for a .438 attack percentage. She also had two digs and three block assists in the match.
 
Wichita State is scheduled to travel to Cincinnati for a conference road match Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. ET.
