WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State women's tennis team will travel to Dallas, Texas, on Friday, March 10 for a 5 p.m. match with No. 43 SMU at the SMU Tennis Complex.
The Shockers (5-7) are coming off a 4-2 loss No. 6 Texas Tech, back on March 8. The Shockers have lost three-straight, which includes a loss to No. 47 Oklahoma. The Shockers are two weeks removed from a No. 35 ranking. Junior
Giulia Guidetti has re-entered the Oracle/ITA singles ranks after being previously unranked.
Tanaporn Thongsing picked up her 20th overall singles win in the loss to Texas Tech, bringing her record to a team-best 20-7.
SMU (10-2) entered the rankings for the first time this season, after picking up two wins last week over members UCF and Arizona.
The Mustangs have no ranked players. Freshman Sarai Yesaki was named the AAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week last week. Dasha Sharapova is 11-1 for SMU in singles play in dual matches. Yesaki and Ana Perez-Lopez are 6-1 in doubles play in duals.
Wichita State leads the all-time series 3-2, including two-straight wins. Wichita State swept SMU 4-0, last season in Wichita on March 3.
