STILLWATER, Okla. – The Wichita State softball team fell to Oklahoma State by a score of 11-3, in six innings Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
Madison Perrigan drove in all three runs for the Shockers on a three-run home run.
Freshman
Bailey Klitzke got her sixth start of the season and collected just one out and left runners on first and second for
Katie Malone. Malone then gave up a single to score two runs that were charged to Klitzke. Klitzke re-entered the game in the sixth, but Malone still received the loss, giving up five runs in the fifth to move to 9-5.
Wichita State fell behind early with the Cowgirls scoring two runs in the first inning on a single after Malone entered the game.
In the third inning, the Shockers took the lead right back on a three-run home run just over the left fielder's glove to make the score 3-2.
An error to start the third inning, propelled the Cowgirls to score five runs in the inning on three singles and one double to give Oklahoma State a 7-3 lead.
The Cowgirls added four runs in the sixth inning to push the lead to eight runs and give OSU the win, 11-3.
The Shockers move to 11-7 overall and will be in action again on Friday, March 10, at 3:00 p.m., for their first game of the Tulsa Invitational against Texas Tech.
