NORMAN, Okla. – Wichita State snapped No. 13 Oklahoma's nation-leading 12-game winning streak with a 4-2 win on Tuesday night.
Greyson Jenista went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two walks, while
Jordan Boyer went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
Starter
Adam Keller went two shutout innings and gave up one hit with no walks and three strikeouts. Reliever
Tommy Barnhouse earned the win. He pitched two innings and gave up one unearned run with no hits and three strikeouts.
The Sooners used a two-out rally to score in the third. Steele Walker doubled with two outs and scored on a single from Austin O'Brien for a 1-0 OU lead.
The Shockers answered in the top of the fourth with their own two-out rally.
Gunnar Troutwine walked with two outs and moved to second on a wild pitch.
Jordan Boyer's single through the left side scored Troutwine to tie the score at one.
Travis Young led off the fifth inning with a walk and moved to second on a single up the middle from
Alec Bohm. With one out, Bohm and Young stole second and third and
Josh DeBacker followed with a groundout to second base that scored Young for a 2-1 Shocker lead.
WSU added to the lead in the sixth. With one out, Boyer singled and he moved to second on a ground out and third on a wild pitch. Young and Bohm both walked to load the bases and
Greyson Jenista's infield single scored both Boyer and Young for a 4-1 Shocker lead.
The Sooners added their final run on a wild pitch in the seventh inning.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., March 10 at No. 6 LSU at 7 p.m.
