Round One Results

LONG BEACH, Calif. –
The Wichita State men's golf team sits tied for 13th at the 21st Del Walker Intercollegiate in which round two was cut short due to fading light.

Yannik Emmert leads the Shockers after finishing round one tied for third behind a 1-under 69. Lack of light in round two stopped last week's MVC Golfer of the Week at the 15th hole with Emmert sitting at 3-over par and tied for 15th individually.

Grant Bennett struggled through the first round with opening hole struggles but improved as play progressed, eventually finishing with a 6-over 76. Light problems also stopped Bennett at the 15th hole at which he sits at 2-over and tied for 49th.

Gage Ihrig, Conrad Walcher and Jacob Bishop all finished the day tied for 65th.

Ihrig carded 77 through the front 18 before play stopped him 5-over par with two holes left in the second round.

Walcher shot 80 in the first round with round two claiming him with four holes left and 2-over par.

Bishop carded 74 in the first round before light stopped him with two holes left in the second at 8-over par.

Competing individually, Adrien Michellod carded 74 in the first round before round two stopped him at the 15th hole and at 3-over par.

After carding 277 as a team, Cal Poly top the leader board through round one with Utah State back in second with 286. Loyola Marymount California round out the top three with 293.

Results for round two are currently unofficial with the round concluding tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. PT with play immediately heading into the third and final round. Tee times for the third round are yet to be announced.
