WICHITA, Kan. –
Landry Shamet scored a game-high 23 points, and No. 11/11 Wichita State wrapped up non-conference play Friday evening with a 75-65 win over Florida Gulf Coast.

Wichita State (10-2) extended its Charles Koch Arena winning streak to 25-straight and reached double-digit victories in the non-conference slate for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

The Shockers improved to 5-1 against 2017 NCAA Tournament teams this year. The only loss came in Maui against Notre Dame.

Shamet (8-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from three) broke the 20-point barrier for the fourth time this season. He's reached double-figures in 11 of the first 12 contests. The sophomore also added five assists and two steals.

Darral Willis Jr. notched his fourth double-double of the season (and seventh of his career) with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The latter was a season-high for a Shocker.

Rashard Kelly cleared eight rebounds – five on the offensive end – to help the Shockers win the battle of the boards, 43-39. He added three blocks.

Shaquille Morris (five points, four rebounds) swatted a season-high five shots.

WSU finished at 39.3 percent from the field – a season low – but held the visitors to 36.8 percent.

Brandon Goodwin (20 points) and Zach Johnson (19) led FGCU (7-7). Johnson was 5-of-7 from three.

Tied at 61 with 4:48 remaining, WSU held FGCU without a field goal for the next four-and-a-half minutes.

Morris and Shamet hit two free throws, and Willis tipped home a missed layup for a 67-62 lead with 1:46 to play.

Shamet forced a steal, then drove and kicked to Conner Frankamp for a corner three to effectively ice the game with 1:03 to play and WSU up 70-62.

Frankamp's triple extended his streak of consecutive games with a three-pointer to 33.

The Shockers won the battle of the boards, 43-39.

The first half was a seesaw battle. FGCU scored six-straight to erase an 11-5 Shocker lead.

WSU countered with a 14-0 run that included contributions from five different players. Shamet scored the last five points on a nifty up-and-under move for a reverse layup, followed by a three-pointer to put WSU in front 25-12 near the midway point.

WSU grabbed eight offensive rebounds in the first half but managed just two second-chance points.

After Shamet's three, the Shockers missed 11 of their last 14 shots to finish the half,

Over a four-minute stretch, Johnson connected on 4-of-5 threes for FGCU, which clawed to within 35-33 at the intermission.

The Eagles used a 13-0 run to build a 50-43 lead with 13:05 to go.

Samajae Haynes-Jones (nine points) snapped the run with a drive and score, then added a trey to tie the game at 50.
