WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State's Track and Field team travels to Nebraska for the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational on Friday at the Bob Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb., hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University in the first-of-two meets in which the team will be competing.
On Saturday, the team will compete in the Nebraska Mark Colligan Memorial, which is also at the Devaney Center.
A total of 13 teams will have athletes competing on Friday at the Prairie Wolf Invite, including the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan, NCAA II Nebraska-Kearney, NCAA III Simpson College and eight NAIA schools; Doane, Hastings, Midland, Concordia, Dordt, York, Sterling and Bethany.
On Friday, running events are scheduled to start at 12:30 pm with the women's 5,000 meters. The first scheduled field event is the women's weight throw at 11:30 a.m. Pole vault will begin at 12:30 with the long jump and high jump slated to start at 1:30. A few individuals in the throws and pole vault will be competing at Knight Fieldhouse on the NWU campus.
On Saturday at the Mark Colligan Memorial, Houston, Oklahoma and Nebraska will also be competing against the Shockers.
The Colligan opens with the field events at 11:30 a.m. (women's weight throw and long jump/men's pole vault), while the running events start at 12:45 p.m. with the women's 60m hurdles.
Wichita State hosted two meets last week, the Shocker Prelude and KU-KSU-WSU Triangular, at the Heskett Center Track and Field Facility. Some highlights this season and in the meets included:
- Five All-Time Top 10 marks in the two meets.
-21 new personal bests in the two meets.
-To date this season, WSU has 16 Top 42 NCAA marks (seven men, nine men) including No. 9 by
Hunter Veith in the long jump (25-0/7.62m) and
Nikki Larch-Miller No. 1 in the Pentathlon (3,910 pts).

Nikki Larch-Miller tied the school record held by her sister, Taylor, in the 60m hurdles (8.31) last week.
