WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State volleyball team opened its first day of fall practice Tuesday, Aug. 9 inside the Aetna Multipurpose Center.

Wichita State kicks off the 2016 season on Friday, Aug. 26 against Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

WSU returns nine letterwinners and five starters from last year's Missouri Valley Conference champion squad, including seniors Dani Mostrom, Jody Larson and Katy Dudzinski and juniors Abbie Lehman, Emily Hiebert and Mikaela Raudsepp. The 2015 team went 27-9 and finished 15-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Shockers defeated Kansas State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual national champion Nebraska in the second round.
