Live ScoringHUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Wichita State men's golf team is in second place after the first two rounds in the MVC Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club. The Shockers shot a 288 in the first round and a 299 in the second for a total of 587, five strokes behind first-place Southern Illinois. The Shockers are seeking their ninth-straight Valley championship. With one round left to play, four teams are within seven strokes of the top spot.
Grant Bennett leads the Shockers, shooting a 71 in the first round and a 72 in the second, good for 143. Bennett is in third place.
Conrad Walcher is tied for seventh place, shooting below par with a 69 in the first round, but lost ground in the second round with a 77, totaling 146.
Alec Heinen is also in the top ten, as he is tied for tenth place with scores of 72 and 75 for a total of 147.
Jacob Bishop is tied for 27th place, shooting 77-75-152 on the day.
Gage Ihrig shot 76-84-160 to put him in a tie for 39th place.
