Scouting Missouri State
The Bears are 26-6 overall and 1-1 in the MVC. Wins this season have come against  Central Arkansas three times, Alcorn State, Austin Peay, Oral Roberts, SIU Edwardsville three times, Memphis three times, Western Illinois twice, Iowa three times, Arkansas State, Minnesota, Central Michigan three times, Saint Louis, Kansas, Bradley and Missouri. Losses have come against Connecticut, No. 26 Oklahoma State, Minnesota twice, Kansas and Bradley. As a team, they are hitting .309 with a team ERA of 3.52 and a .973 fielding percentage. They are led offensively by Jake Burger who is hitting .385 with seven doubles, 14 home runs and 46 RBI. The Bears are led by head coach Keith Guttin.

Series History vs. the Bears
Wichita State leads the overall series with Missouri State 60-41. The Shockers lead the series in Wichita 39-15. Head Coach Todd Butler is 3-6 in his career against MSU.  

Last Meeting vs. MSU
The last meeting between the two teams was May 22, 2015, in the MVC Tournament in Wichita. The Bears won the game 6-4. Mikel Mucha went 3-for-5, while Ryan Tinkham went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Starter Jeb Bargfeldt took the loss.

Jenista Coming on Strong
Freshman Greyson Jenista has continued to improve this season. Over the last 19 games, he is 20-for-58 (.345) with 14 runs, two doubles, one triple, three home runs, 15 RBI and 15 walks. He is also 8-for-15 (.533) in those games with runners in scoring position.

Mucha Leading Off
After a rough stretch at the beginning of the season, senior outfielder Mikel Mucha has rebounded over the last 27 games. During that span, he is 32-for-86 (.372) with 18 runs, six doubles, 11 RBI, 17 walks and five stolen bases.

Schwanke Locked In
Junior pitcher Willie Schwanke has been locked in over his last four starts. In those four games, Schwanke is 3-1 with a 1.20 ERA and one complete game. He has pitched 30 innings in those four starts and allowed four earned runs on 27 hits with eight walks and 21 strikeouts.
 
Home Stretch
Wichita State is in a stretch where they play eight of nine games at home. The Shockers host Big 12 foe Oklahoma on April 12 and welcome defending MVC champion Missouri State for a three-game series April 15-17. WSU travels to instate rival Kansas on April 19 before hosting 2015 NCAA Tourney participant Bradley April 22-24. The Shockers wrap up the home stand with instate rival Kansas State on April 26.
 
Four Homers
Wichita State hit four home runs in a 15-8 win over Oral Roberts on April 5. Chase Rader, Gunnar Troutwine, Ryan Tinkham and Dayton Dugas all homered against the Golden Eagles. It was the first time the Shockers hit four or more home runs in a game since they hit four on May 19, 2011. Kevin Hall, Chris O'Brien, Johnny Coy and Preston Springer all homered agains the Braves.
