WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's tennis blanked Northwest Missouri State, 5-0, Wednesday afternoon at Genesis Health Club.

WSU improved to 13-8 on the season with the victory and ran its winning streak to four consecutive. The loss was just the second of the season for Northwest Missouri State (7-2), who entered the match ranked No. 14 in the Division II ITA rankings.

"I am really glad that we were able to play Northwest Missouri State," said senior Sergio de Vilchez, who transferred to WSU from Northwest Missouri State. "They are a really good team and will have a strong season. It was really special for me to play against them since it is a school I respect a lot after playing there for two years. I have a lot of friends there and it was a great feeling to play against them. I wish them a lot of luck this season and I'm sure they will do well."

The Shockers collected the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 3. Tin Ostojic and Jocelyn Devilliers defeated Sergi Fontcuberta and Alvaro Riveros, 6-2, at the No. 1 position. Sergio de Vilchez and Eddie Stoica won 6-2 at No. 3 over Mauro Tete and Vazquez Abaitua.

Devilliers started off singles play with a straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, win at No. 3 over Sergi Fontcuberta. Stoica and de Vilchez finished back-to-back on courts No. 5 and No. 4. Stoica won, 6-4, 6-4, over Fin Glowick, while de Vilchez downed Mauro Tete, 6-1, 6-1.

Ostojic added the final point with a 7-6, 6-2, win at the No. 1 position vs. Romain Boissinot.
