The Wichita State baseball team held its annual media day on Feb. 12 in the All-American Club at Eck Stadium. Head Coach Todd Butler talked about the upcoming season along with members of the team.

The Shockers open the 2016 season on Fri., Feb. 19 against Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. at Eck Stadium. WSU returns six starters including seniors Ryan Tinkham, Tanner Kirk, Chase Rader and Mikel Mucha and sophomores Gunnar Troutwine and Trey Vickers. The Shockers also return starting pitchers Sam Tewes, Willie Schwanke, Chase Williams and Cody Tyler.

Tinkham, Troutwine and Tewes all earned preseason all-Valley honors, while Tinkham was also named a preseason second team All-American.
