One of the nation's premiere middle-distance runners during his career.
- Â Became WSU's third track All-American with a second-place finish in the mile run at the 1963 NCAA Championships. His time of 4.02.2 established a school record that stood for nine years.
- Â That performance remained as the second-best in Shocker history at the time of his induction.
- Â That same season he swept the half-mile, mile-, and two-mile events at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.
- Â Also took first place honors in the mile- and two-mile runs at the 1965 MVC meet.
- Â He completed his career as the school record-holder in the indoor and outdoor mile runs, half-mile and two-mile.
- Â Dominated the Missouri Valley Conference in cross country, as well.
- Â Won the individual title at the 1961 and '62 meets and finished fourth in 1963.
- Â Placed 23rd at the 1962 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Inducted, 1992.
