A 1934 graduate of the University of Wichita, Coulson was a member and Counsel of the Wichita State University Athletic Association, Endowment Association and Board of Trustees. He donated many hours of service to the Athletic Association and University advising and providing direction on legal matters. He was a member of Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization from its inception at the Charter Guardian level. A partner in the law firm Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, he was a member of the Wichita and American Bar Associations and was a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was also a member of the American Bar Foundation and a founding member of the World Association of Lawyers of the World Peace through Law Center. Inducted, 1985.
