Tournament CentralTULSA, Okla. - The 42nd ranked Wichita State doubles team of
Jocelyn Devilliers and
Tin Ostojic won their first match of qualifying doubles at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships Tuesday afternoon to advance to the round of 32.
The Shocker duo defeated LSU's Gabor Csonka and Simon Freund, 6-4, 6-4, and will face Rice's Adam Gustafsson and David Warren for a berth in the round of 16. Eight teams will advance out of qualifying doubles and into the main draw.
Also in action on Tuesday were
Miroslav Herzan and
Haru Inoue. Herzan and Inoue won their first round match against Jake Albo and Michael Rinaldi from Florida State, 6-4, 7-6(4), but fell in their evening match to North Florida's 50th-ranked Jack Findel-Hawkins and Yannick Zuern, 7-5, 6-1. It marked the first loss in doubles for Herzan and Inoue this season, as they are now 6-1.
Up NextAfter the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships, the Shockers will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the ITA Central Regional from Oct. 15-19.
