MTEN Preview: American Conference Individual Championships (Oct. 23-26)

10/22/2025 11:20:00 AM

TULSA, Okla. – Alejandro Jacome and Ilias Worthington will represent Wichita State at the 2025 American Conference Individual Championships beginning on Oct. 23 at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Jacome and Worthington will compete individually in singles and as a doubles pairing. They will both open play in the round of 32 in singles and the round of 16 in doubles.

Worthington is set to begin action on Thursday at 10:00 AM against Temple's Hady El Kordy in the round of 32. Jacome will face Simon Myslivec from Florida Atlantic, also on Thursday, at 11:00 AM. In doubles, the Shockers will face Maxime Dubouch and Marcos Castro Fabra of Memphis on Thursday morning before beginning singles play. A win would send them to the quarterfinals to face Timothy Carlson Seger and Gus Tettamble from Tulsa on Friday at 10:00 AM.

In last year's American Conference Individual Championships, Jacome paired with former Shocker Kristof Minarik to reach the semifinals in doubles before falling to a pair from Charlotte. Neither Jacome nor Minarik recorded a main draw singles victory.

The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Conference at the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championship, which is played Nov. 6-9 at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. Both finals will be streamed on ESPN+.
