WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's tennis head coach
Darragh Glavin announced the addition of
Marcel Miasato as the program's new assistant coach.
Miasato comes to Wichita State after spending the previous two seasons as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Cowley College.

"I'm really excited to have Marcel join our staff," Glavin said. "He brings a great combination of experience, energy and a genuine passion for helping players develop. I think he'll be a great fit for our program and, more importantly, a great person for our student-athletes to have around every day. I'm looking forward to seeing the impact he can make on our team, our culture and our program as we continue to build something special here at Wichita State. I know he's going to bring a lot to the table, and I'm excited to have him officially join us."
At Cowley, Miasato led the 2026 Tiger men's tennis team to a fourth place finish at the NJCAA Division I National Championship, despite having only six student-athletes on the roster for the season. On the women's side, he captained the Tigers to back-to-back national runner-up finishes in 2025 and 2026.
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Miasato started his collegiate career at Barton Community College, where he played for two years (2015-2018). He then transferred to NCAA Division II Newman University (2018-2020), where the Jets reached the Heartland Conference Finals in 2018.
Miasato graduated from Newman with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration before becoming a volunteer assistant coach at the school from 2021-2023. He also served as the director of juniors at Genesis Health Clubs in 2022 and 2023, where he developed multiple players that ended up playing at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels.
