TULSA, Okla.  – Wichita State's
Alejandro Jacome defeated the No. 2 seed in singles and paired with
Ilias Worthington to reach the doubles quarterfinals at the 2025 American Conference Individual Championships on Thursday.

The quest for a doubles title started strong as Worthington and Jacome jumped out to a 7-2 lead to earn an 8-5 win over Memphis' Maxime Dubouch and Marcos Castro Fabra in the round of 16. The win sends them to face Tulsa's Gus Tettamble and Timothy Carlsson Seger on Friday at 10:00 AM.

In singles, both Shockers earned round of 32 victories in the early afternoon, with Jacome cruising past Florida Atlantic's Simon Myslivec 6-1, 6-2 and Worthington narrowly defeating Tulane's Hady El Kordy 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, moving both to the round of 16 later in the evening.

In the round of 16, Jacome earned a statement win, defeating the No. 2 seed in Tulane's Daniel Phillips in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, earning a place in the quarterfinals. Worthington did not fare as well, losing to the No. 1 seed, Petro Kuzmenok of Rice, 6-4, 6-3.

Jacome will face Charlotte's No. 7-seeded Vasco Prata on Friday at 1:30 PM for a spot in the semifinals. At last year's Individual Championships, Jacome defeated Prata in the consolation bracket 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (3).
