MARICOPA, Ariz.—Wichita State junior Alec Heinen finished tied for 16th at the second Saguaro Amateur that kicked off the 2015 amateur golf season at the par 72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club on Jan. 2.
Heinen shot a three-under par 70 in the first and second round and a one-over par 73 in the third round for a total score of 213.
Freshman Jacob Bishop finished tied for 53rd (77-73-72=222) and freshman Conrad Walcher finished 107th (83-82-82=247).
The Shockers men's golf team opens up the season Feb. 9-10 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
