WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's track and field team collected its first accolade of the 2014 outdoor season by finishing No. 23 in the Collegiate Men's Dual Meet Rankings, Track and Field News announced on Tuesday evening. The men also finished ranked No. 2 in the dual meet Midwest regional poll.
The Shockers compiled a 6-3 overall dual meet record, with three of those wins coming last weekend at the Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. Wichita State defeated Kansas State (104.00-81.00), Kansas (99.00-86.00), and Air Force (113.00-85.00) to cap its dual meet season.
Rankings reflect a combined indoor/outdoor season, but with a heavier emphasis on outdoor competition. To be ranked, a team must compete in one or more dual meets (defined as a scored meet between four or fewer teams). Teams are ranked on wins and losses, marks, and strength and depth of dual meet schedule.
