WICHITA, Kan. – Senior forward Cleanthony Early, sophomore point guard Fred VanVleet and head coach Gregg Marshall each earned more postseason awards on Tuesday. Early and VanVleet were named to the 2013-2014 USBWA District VI All-District team while Marshall was named the 2013-2014 USBWA District VI Coach of the Year and the 2014 Sporting News College Basketball Coach of the Year.
So far, Early has now earned four postseason awards. He previously earned a spot on the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference All-First Team, was named a 2014 Oscar Robertson Trophy Finalist and is one of 15 finalists for the 2014 John R. Wooden Award.
With Tuesday's honor, VanVleet earned his sixth postseason honor. He was previously named to the 2014 MVC All-First Team, the 2014 All-Defensive Team, the 2014 MVC Most-Improved Team, the 2014 Larry Bird MVC Player of the Year and was named to the Sporting News All-America Third Team on Monday.
Marshall previously earned the MVC Coach of the Year Award for the third year in a row and is a 2014 Henry Iba Coach of the Year Award Finalist.
USBWA 2013-2014 All-District Teams
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association released its 2013-14 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus.
For each of the nine geographic districts, a player and coach of the year are selected. Below is the District VI listing:
