Fort Collins, Colo. – Louis Cohen Boyer rode a brilliant first round into a tie for fifth place at the Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State University. After 36 holes, the Wichita State men's golf team is in fourth place and still within striking distance of the top spot.
Boyer, the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Golfer-of-the-Week, carded an opening round 66 to tie for second place. The junior started strongly in the second round before settling for a 74 to finish at even-par (140) for the day. Colorado State's Cameron Harrell leads the field at 3-under.
Freshman Grant Bennett shot a steady 71-73=144 to tie for 20th while Chandler Rusk tied for 33rd and Calvin Pearson and Timmy Jordan tied for 38th.
