KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Wichita State went 4-0 to claim the Comcast Lady Vol Classic championship. Three Shockers were named to the all-tournament team including MVP Chelsey Feekin and all-tourney selections Elizabeth Field and Ashlyn Driskill.
Feekin, a senior setter from Papillion, Neb., averaged 1.08 kills, 10.08 assists, 1.83 digs and 0.58 blocks per set in the four tournament matches. She also guided the Shockers to a .350 team hitting percentage.
Field, a senior middle blocker from Windsor, Calif., averaged 1.75 kills and 0.42 blocks per set and hit .405, while Driskill, a sophomore outside hitter from Valley Center, Kan., averaged 2.67 kills, 0.33 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .361.
The Shockers return to action on Thurs., Sept. 19 against Missouri State in their home opener at 6 p.m. inside Charles Koch Arena.
