CEDAR FALLS, Iowa- The Wichita State women's tennis team defeated Missouri Valley Conference opponent Northern Iowa 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.
Wichita State (7-10, 2-0) grabbed the doubles point when Carla Venticinque and Rebecca Pedrazzi defeated Chelsea Moore and Jessica King, 8-3 and Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul and Montse Blasco Fernandez won by forfeit.
The Shocker women continued their domination, winning all six singles contests to grab their second MVC victory of the season. Freshman Rebecca Pedrazzi came back after dropping the first set to Phoebe Walker to win 3-6, 6-0, 10-4. Lucia Kovalova, Julia Schiller, Montse Blasco Fernandez and Satjaporn Mahajaroenkil all won in straight sets while junior Carla Venticinque won by default.
Drake will welcome the Shockers on Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa for another MVC contests that has a first serve set for 10 a.m.
