WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State men's tennis team defeated
Oral Roberts 7-0 Saturday afternoon at Genesis Health Club.
In doubles play, the Shockers won all three matches to
capture an early point. Guillermo Nicol and Erick Reyes defeated Fabian
Zierleyn and Nathaniel Avery 8-2 to put Wichita State up 1-0.
Sophomore Tomislav Gregurovic defeated Pedro Moreno 6-0, 6-0
and reigning Missouri Valley Conference Athlete of the Week Matheus Pereira
defeated Fabian Zierleyn, 6-1, 6-0. Ilija Cuic clinched the match for Wichita
State by taking down Jason Mechali, 6-1, 6-0. Guillermo Nicol, Tin Ostojic and
Alvaro Gutierrez all picked up singles victories as well to finish the sweep.
The Shockers are back in action on Wednesday, March 6 for a
match against Newman at 12:30 p.m.
