WICHITA, Kan. – The annual Wichita State baseball Fall World Series will begin on Thurs., Oct. 17, at Eck Stadium. The series will last until Tue., Oct. 22.
The Shocker roster will be divided into two teams, the Black and the Gold. The rosters will be announced at a later date.
The Black squad won the 2012 Fall World Series in seven games.
Mikel Mucha and Johnny Coy each hit .357 for the Black squad, while Coy had 10 RBI. TJ McGreevy earned three of the four wins and had a 1.42 ERA.
Chase Simpson led the Gold squad with a .433 average and nine RBI, while Casey Gillaspie hit .400 with eight RBI. Albert Minnis earned two saves with a 1.12 ERA.
Admission to each game of the Fall World Series is a can of food for the Kansas Food Bank.
