NORMAN, Okla.- The Wichita State men's tennis team lost
their first match of the team season, 7-0, against No. 8 Oklahoma on Tuesday
night the Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion.
In doubles play, Peerakit Siributwong and Leonard Stakhovsky
of Oklahoma defeated Alvaro Gutierrez and Erick Reyes, 8-2. Then, No. 32 Guillermo
Alcorta and Axel Alvarez Llamas of Oklahoma defeated Tin Ostojic and Matheus
Pereira, 8-4, to capture the early point for the Sooners.
In the singles competition, the Shockers were unable to get
a victory, falling in each of the six contests.
Wichita State is next in action on Sunday, February 3 for a
pair of matches against Cowley College at 12 p.m. and Bethany at 4 p.m. Both
matches will take place at Genesis Health Club.
