WICHITA, Kan. — About half of Wichita State's track &
field student-athletes will travel this week to participate in the Arkansas
Twilight Friday, May 4 at Fayetteville, Ark.
This weekend offers the Wichita State men's and women's
track & field teams one final tune-up before hosting the State Farm
Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships May 11-13 at Cessna Stadium.
The Arkansas Twilight opens with the women's hammer at 11
a.m. Running events begin with the women's 4x100-meter relay at 6 p.m. and the
meet concludes with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 9:10 p.m.
Most Shocker athletes will compete in just one or two events
Friday at John McDonnell Field.
Both the Wichita State men's and women's track and field teams
are ranked seventh in the Midwest Region on the latest U.S. Track & Field
and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings.
Wichita State most recently competed in its home Track-It
Buster Invitational at Cessna Stadium April 27-28. The Shocker men's and
women's teams each won team titles at the meet, with the women posting 231
points and the men scoring 240 points in the six-team meet.
