Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Chelsey Feekin recorded her second
triple-double of the season as Wichita State beat Evansville, 3-1. The Shockers (16-5, 9-2) won by scores of
26-24, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-18.
Feekin finished with 12 kills, 38 assists and 10 digs. Emily Adney led the Shockers with 13 kills,
while Ashley Andrade added 12 kills.
Jackie Church finished with a match-high 24 digs.
The Shockers jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first set, but
Evansville came back to tie it at 16. A
block by Elizabeth Field and Chelsey Feekin put WSU up 19-16, but the Aces
scored six of the next eight points to go in front 22-21. The Shockers came back to reach set point
24-23 on a kill by Sam Sanders and won the set 26-24 on a UE error.
A kill by Ashlyn Driskill gave the Shocks a 10-6 lead in the
second set, but the Aces used a 10-1 run to take a 16-11 lead. The Shockers used a 4-0 run to pull within
19-18 and then used a 3-0 run to take a 21-20 lead. A Driskill kill put the Shocks at set point
at 24-23 and Driskill's service ace finished the set at 25-23.
The Aces jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the third set, but the
Shockers battled back to tie it at 12. A
Driskill kill gave WSU a 17-14 lead, but the Aces came back to tie it at
20. WSU led 22-21, but UE scored the
final four points to win 25-22.
A kill by Feekin gave WSU an 11-4 lead in the fourth set,
but the Aces scored five-straight to pull within 17-14. The Aces never got closer than two the rest
of the way as the Shockers won 25-18.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Oct. 26 when they
host Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. inside Charles Koch Arena.
