Gold Takes Game One, 4-3

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Gold squad won game one of the Shocker Fall World Series 4-3.

Kevin Hall went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two stolen bases including a steal of home.  He also drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth with a double in the right-center gap. 

Gold starter Kris Gardner earned a no decision.  He pitched five shutout innings and allowed just two hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Reliever Cale Elam earned the win with two shutout innings and two strikeouts.

Johnny Coy led the Black squad going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run.

Black reliever A.J. Ladwig took the loss going four innings and giving up two earned runs on four hits.

Game two of the series is Sat., Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
